On seeing

If you ask me, being a designer is largely about seeing. Can you see if the perspective is off in a sketch? Can you see when a sketch isn’t jumping off the page, won’t be visible from across the room? Can you see colors that are muddy instead of vibrant? What makes a product look friendly? Lightweight? Reassuring? Dynamic? In my opinion, the powers of observation cannot be understated in design.
